In the build up for the summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2020 the Japanese National Tourist Board is investing large funds to promote Japan for foreign tourism. The city tourist bureaus (DMOs) in Japan have traditionally struggled in this area.
(TRAVPR.COM) SWEDEN - April 23rd, 2014 - ArrivalGuides has signed a partnership agreement with Knowledge Travel Partners, Japan’s first foreign tourism consultants, to attract more Japanese DMOs to join the ArrivalGuides network and make information about their destination available for the over 50 million travelers who actively use the ArrivalGuides destination content through the 260 travel partners in the ArrivalGuides network.
The first Japanese destination, Matsuyama, went live in the network on April 23rd. This is a co-operation between ArrivalGuides and the Tourism and International Exchange section of Matsuyama City.
In 2013 Japan was the 5th largest outbound travel market, when it comes to spending. Knowledge Travel Partners will also invite Japanese travel operators to be part of the ArrivalGuides network, in order to access up-to-date destination information for over 540 destinations globally.
