The 33rd installment of Kalachakra Event is scheduled to be held from 3rd July, 2014 to 14th July, 2014. The word ‘Kalachakra’ means cycles of time, and the Kalachakra presents three different styles-internal, external and alternative.

(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - May 27th, 2014 -  The 33rd installment of Kalachakra Event is slated to be held from 3rd July, 2014 to 14th July, 2014. The event will take place at “Buddha Garden” in Choglamsar, about 10 kilometers away from Leh & Ladakh and will be preceded by several days of teachings by Dalai Lama.

It will provide us an ideal opportunity, once it has ended, to meet the 3rd International Convention of Stupa Builders. During the first three days of the Kalachakra Event, from July 3rd to July 5th, His Holiness Dalai Lama, along with the monks of Namgyal Monastery and senior Lamas, will carry out rituals.

This is done to sanctify and prepare the venue. It includes chanting of prayers, creation of the sand mandala and other rituals. From 6th July to 8th July, His Holiness Dalai Lama will give introduction of Nagarjuna’s letter to a friend. On 9th July, the Kalachakra Ritual Dance will be performed by the monks of Namgyal Monastery. From 10th July to 13th July, His Holiness Dalai Lama will start the Kalachakra event. On 14th July, a lifelong empowerment and a ceremony offering prayers for the long life of Dalai Lama will be performed.
