The tour company Explorations is offering a special cultural tour along the North Coast of Peru in September.

(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - March 7th, 2013 - In addition to a tour featuring the Mistura Food Festival in Lima, the tour company Explorations has organized a special escorted tour along the Northern Coast of Peru. The area is considered a cradle of civilization in South America with such important archaeology sites as; Caral, Sechin, Chankillo, Hauca Del Sol, and Chan-Chan to visit. The tour will also include a visit to the famous Lord of Sipan Museum and the colonial cities of Trujillo and Chiclayo, along with stops in traditional small towns, and visits to "off-the-beaten path" archaeology sites, museums, and scenic nature areas.

Participants can also see El Castillo de Huarmey which provided evidence of the Wari Empire in the Moche heartland. It is also the site of an incredible find of an royal Wari tomb found in 2013 that contained 1,200 artifacts, including gold earrings, bronze axes, jewelry made of copper and silver, and silver bowls and 60 human burials. The important find is featured in National Geographic Magazine's June 2014 issue.
