Jeanette Bunn spoke on behalf of Send Me On Vacation at AMDETUR's Annual Convention in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 20th, 2014 - San Diego, CA - Jeanette Bunn, President and CEO of Travel To Go, spoke on behalf of Send Me On Vacation (SMOV) at AMDETUR’s Annual Convention held at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf Resort & Spa Resort, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico from June 18-20, 2014.

Bunn, an Advisory Board Member of SMOV and an active participant in the organization, informed developers and other industry leaders of the opportunities to become involved in Mexico and support the organization by providing much needed vacations to breast cancer survivors from Mexico.

Send Me On Vacation is a 501 (3) (C) charity that provides vacations to women with breast cancer who have undergone treatment and need a place to rejuvenate.   While there are many organizations assisting with the physical aspects of breast cancer, SMOV focuses on “the end of the beginning or the first day of the rest of the lives of the survivors.”  Their mission is to use the vacation as a transition from physical healing to emotional healing by providing the opportunity for rejuvenation, renewal and reconnection with loved ones. In 2013, SMOV, through the generosity of sponsors and donations of vacations from resort developers, was able to send 18 survivors on vacation.

Travel To Go supports numerous community causes and national charities, in addition to Send Me On Vacation, including Royal Family KIDS, The Wounded Warrior Project, the San Diego Muscular Dystrophy Association, the YWCA, New Vista Charitable Foundation and the Memorial Walk at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.  Travel To Go is the 2014 recipient of ARDA’s prestigious ACE Excellence for Community Service award that honors those that have attained the highest level of excellence in the resort industry and whose accomplishments and dedication spur the industry to new heights.
