(TRAVPR.COM) UA - July 1st, 2014 - WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH – The inaugural Craft Brew Races Waterville Valley event is scheduled for August 23 at Waterville Valley Resort. This new event features a 5k-road race followed by a local craft beer festival, where runners can sample from over 20 breweries. Waterville Valley will be the host to the New Hampshire leg of this series, which has races scheduled throughout New England this summer.
“Waterville Valley is an ideal setting for this race,” says Matthew Gray, President of Gray Matter Marketing. “Not only is it a scenic destination, but they have all the amenities necessary to host an incredible race and festival. The other great part is there is room to grow this race for years to come.”
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for Brew New Hampshire, a newly formed 501c, who’s mission is to present, promote and create easy access to New Hampshire’s beer community.
“We’re excited to be hosting the Craft Brew Race,” says Chris Sununu, CEO of Waterville Valley Resort. “Over the last few years, we’ve been able to add a number of race events that highlight the variety of accessible terrain here in the Valley. What’s even better about this race, is that having Packard’s Field and Town Square centrally located make it the perfect location for a race to accompany the Brew Fest.”
Craft Brew Races will be held on August 23, from 11:00 am – 3:00 p.m. at Waterville Valley Resort. Registration is currently available online at craftbrewraces.com/waterville. In addition to race registration, tickets are also available for beer festival only participation and there is a designated driver option. Local breweries featured at the event include White Birch Brewing, Kelsen Brewing Co., Squam Brewing, Stoneface Brewing co, Woodstock Inn Brewery, The Prodigal Brewery and Moat Mountain among others. Food will also be available for purchase at the event and all participants receive an event pint glass and runners receive a finisher’s medal.
