Touristlink announces the launch of the worlds ultimate travel deal list. Travelers can find the 100 best deals sourced competitively from over 15,000 different travel agents already on Touristlink.
(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - August 5th, 2014 - Touristlink is excited to announce the 'Touristlink 100' a list of the world’s top 100 travel deals sourced competitively from local guides and tour operators. Touristlink Founder, David Urmann, commented “One of the biggest challenges travelers have is making sure they get the best pricing and service and the upcoming Top 100 list will ensure they get both. We already have picked a few of the deals and they are pretty incredible in terms of pricing and the service."
The 'Top 100' list will work by driving competition between tour operators for both price and service. Touristlink currently lists over 75 different climbing packages for Mount Kilimanjaro from different tour operators, but the problem for the traveler is how to decide which is the best. The idea behind the Top 100 is that Touristlink will start off by picking the "best" deal that meets standards for both pricing and service and then let the others agents compete to give a better price or value. Touristlink will not stay committed to any one tour operator and if a new one comes along with a better value then the current operator will either have a chance to match it or be replaced.
The founders believe that by making the competition between different tour agents more transparent they can leverage pricing power and pass the savings on to the traveler while at the same time giving the provider a good volume of sales. Service and inclusions are just as important so it’s not just about the lowest price but also giving the best value to the travelers. Making a list like this might be challenging but the Touristlink team has one advantage in that it already has access to over 15,000 tour operators most of whom who have already listed deals and offers on the website.
To date Touristlink has selected about 20 great offers for the list including ones for Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp. The team plans to bring the Top 100 list to the public in October of 2014 and is currently reviewing submissions. If you are a local guide or tour operators and are interested in paarticipating you will need to already have a free Touristlink profile (sign up at www.touristlink.com/travel) and meet a number of other conditions. Travel operators must have great reviews already on Touristlink or TripAdvisor. Those who don’t must be willing to give a free demo to a volunteer or Touristlink team member for review. The pricing and inclusions must be a better value then what is found elsewhere online. Trips and tours should be multi-day and must be generally available.
Touristlink plans to sell the trips and tours on the Touristlink 100 on behalf of the tour operator and have a simple commission based structure. If you are a tour operator and want to get your deal listed on the Top 100 please get in contact with site founder, David Urmann. In addition, Touristlink is currently seeking a number of volunteers who will be given free tours in exchange for reviews. Volunteers should have a Touristlink profile and either a large social media following or their own travel blog if they want to qualify.
The list of these travel deals will become available later this year after the team has had a chance to work with the individual operators and assure the best pricing and services. Travelers who in the past have a hard time booking trips directly with local operators will now be able come directly to the Touristlink Top 100 for the best of the best.
Touristlink lets travelers connect with each other, meet up with locals or connect with a local guide. Launched in 2012, Touristlink has over 50,000 members signed up and features 15,000 local guides, tour operators and travel agents making it one of the largest social travel websites. It's a great resource whether you want to get off the beaten path or just want to plan your own trip.
