Visitors flock to the region to enjoy the beautiful summer weather and what better way to spend the day than enjoying live music outside on the patio of a newly discovered restaurant, at a lake-side bar or sitting on a lawn chair in the town center during a family picnic. No matter what your musical preferences are, there’s something for everyone in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
If you’re a music buff that likes a good concert or intimate musical performance there’s plenty of great venues in the Lakes Region. August is full of musical events including The Kingston Trio at The Flying Monkey in Plymouth on Saturday, August 23rd at 7:30pm and John Holden and the Shrieks at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord on September 13th, or if you prefer to enjoy music outdoors in a more natural setting, the Attitash Mountainside Music Series is a perfect fit! Performed outside on a concert stage, this free, live music series runs each Saturday through August 31st from 3-6pm. You’ll never have to worry about rain either; with indoor space as backup, the performances are rarely cancelled. Other outdoor concerts in the Lakes Region include the free Sunday Concerts at Tilton Island Park through the month of August from 6pm-8:30pm or the Concerts in the Park series at Kelley Park in Bristol. Both of these outdoor concerts are free to the public and offer refreshments and food for a small price, or bring your own picnic! Great Waters Music Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to culturally enriching New Hampshire's Lakes Region and hosts wonderful musical talent at the Inn on Main as well as the Kingswood Arts Center with many performances planned for August.
Enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Winnipesaukee from the water while you dine on a delicious buffet dinner, followed by drinks and dancing during Rock ‘n’ Roll Saturday Nights on the M/S Mount Washington, Saturday evenings from 7pm – 10pm. Another great place for a bite to eat while enjoying free live music is at the Corner House Inn in Sandwich, which hosts live entertainment each Friday night at 9pm. Located right across from Lake Winnipesuakee in the historic Mill Falls Marketplace visitors will find Giusseppes, a popular dining location since 1989 featuring live entertainment every night of the week. Or visit The NASWA Resort’s NazBar in Laconia with live entertainment every Wednesday from 3:30pm - 7pm right at their beach side bar.
