GRAND CANYON HELICOPTERS' LAUNCHES NEW TOURS FOR FALL
Industry: Tours

The fall travel season is quickly approaching. Let's celebrate! Try one of these fabulous new Canyon helicopter rides.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - September 15th, 2014 - Grand Canyon Helicopters is getting ready for fall 2014 with a slate of fresh, new flights that are sure to please travelers taking off from Las Vegas and South Rim, AZ.

"It was an incredible summer for flying the Canyon," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Helicopters. "Fall will be equally brilliant, especially because temperatures will be cooler and prices will be lower."

Las Vegas

This season, Vegas travelers will want to check out the flight that departs from The Strip and lands at the bottom of the Canyon for a Champagne picnic. "The deluxe version of this tour is perfect for the holidays," noted Kravitz. "It even comes with chauffeured limousine service to and from the hotel."

The aerial tour that's expected to gain a lot of traction is one that also departs from The Strip and comes with limousine shuttle service. "Travelers love these deluxe options," Kravitz said. "And it's no wonder because frankly these trips are clearly the better value."

Vegas helicopters fly a standard route that includes Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Colorado River, the Skywalk and the Canyon before heading back to town. "By the time the flight is completed, travelers will have seen all key highlights in under 4 hours," Kravitz noted.

South Rim

Travelers need to note that flights are not permitted to fly below the rim and land at South Rim. As such, tours are limited to a set of superb air-only (30-minutes and 50-minutes) and air-ground combos. "The 50-minute is the way to go," said Kravitz. "It's the option that lets one see up to 75 percent of the park in under 1 hour."

One tour that's perfect for fall is the helicopter package that includes a Jeep tour inside the National Park. "This trip offers the best of both worlds," said Kravitz. "It starts with a 30-minute flight through the Dragoon Corridor, which is the widest and deepest section of the Canyon, and concludes with a 2.5-hour in-Park Jeep trip."

Which Rim?

There are two rims that are visited by helicopters. They are the West Rim and the South Rim. All Vegas helicopters go to the West Rim; the South Rim is out of range. All South Rim helicopters go to the South. There are no connecting flights between the rims. Those who are interested in driving between the rims can expect a drive time of upwards 4.5 hours.

Planning Pays (Literally!)

Travelers will need to book their Canyon helicopter tours at least a week in advance. "Air tours are one of the most popular ways to visit the Canyon and as such are prone to sell out," said Kravitz. "By purchasing tickets in advance, travelers get to pick from the best flights at the lowest prices."

It's also recommended to book online. "The best deals are clearly on the Internet," said Kravitz. "This is because it's cheaper to process online bookings, the savings of which are passed on to the traveler. But make sure to complete the transaction online in order to qualify for the online discount."
