Tour operators often increase their prices when exchange rates work against them - but one Northern Lights specialist is reducing its prices because rates have moved in its favour!
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED KINGDOM - September 16th, 2014 - In an interesting and probably previously-unheard-of step, Northern Lights specialist The Aurora Zone is contacting ALL its existing clients to inform them that the cost of their winter holiday has been reduced, thanks to the recent strength of the Pound against the Euro and other currencies. The company is also publishing new, lower prices on its website, www.theaurorazone.com, with immediate effect.
With an average saving of around 7%, if the holiday’s original cost was £2,000 pp, and two of you were travelling together, you’d now save £280 in total; some clients will be saving more.
Alistair McLean, MD of The Aurora Zone, comments: “I agree, it’s an unusual step to take.
“To explain a little more, the strength of Sterling since we priced our holidays means that overseas costs such as accommodation and activities are now cheaper than they were at the time we worked out our holiday costs, many months ago. Our year-on-year sales figures are pretty much where they were last year, which means we could, of course, make considerably more money by staying quiet and doing nothing.
“However, The Aurora Zone has never been about making vast sums of money. We are keen to help people to fulfil their ambition of seeing the Aurora Borealis. We therefore took the unusual step of deciding to reduce our prices - not just for new clients but also for those who have already booked, because they are equally important to us.”
The Aurora Zone will be sending out revised invoices to all its customers over the next few weeks.
Says McLean: “I like to think that customers will appreciate this small gesture on our part and that it will encourage them to recommend us to their friends as a decent and fair tour operator. What goes around comes around, as the old saying indicates.”
The Aurora Zone is the UK’s first tour operator solely dedicated to Northern Lights Holidays, and was created to give you the very best chance to see this natural phenomenon. Following the Solar Maximum in June, this autumn/winter offers a fantastic time to see the Northern Lights, as solar activity (as proclaimed by no less than NASA itself) is predicted to be very strong for the full season. Continues McLean: “Following NASA’s solar predictions and the stunning Northern Lights displays already spotted across the Arctic skies this September, there really has never been a better time to tick the Northern Lights off your bucket list. We’ll be delighted to assist in booking you a specialist trip to Finland, Sweden, Norway or Iceland – now at even-better-value prices.”
