3rd Planet unveils first online destination tour
(TRAVPR.COM) SINGAPORE - September 17th, 2014 - We are pleased to introduce the world to our Wonders of the World project, an interactive travel destination tour portal. A media technology company based in Singapore, 3rd Planet utilises its own patented CGI tech-nology to give anyone with a smart phone, a tablet or an Internet connection a taste of travel without leaving home.
Our objective is to display top destinations in various countries in all its glory, by allowing 3D navigation of sites and providing information at various points of interest. “Travellors’’ would be able to walk through or even fly over the site much like they would with gaming technology, giving them an experience that goes beyond what is now being presented in travel advertisements and tour brochures.
For those ready to pack their bags, it allows them to plan their itinerary better and arm themselves with in-formation which they can take with them from home to foreign destination.
Three years in the making, we will showcase our first destination, The Venetian Macau, next week. This will be followed by other destinations over the weeks to come, in countries such as China, Thailand, Indone-sia, Brunei, Japan, the Philippines and Nepal.
Our First Destination: The Venetian Macao
One of the world’s largest buildings and integrated resorts, the massive structured is modelled after famous landmarks and the architecture of Venice. They include the Bridge of Sighs, the Rialto Bridge and the Doges Palace built in the Venetian Gothic style.
• The Rialto Bridge, also known as the lovers’ bridge and is one of Venice’s most visited and photographed bridge.
• The Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells.
• The Doges Palace is a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Ven-ice, northern Italy.
• A Free Shuttle Service at the West Lobby of the Venetian takes you through the highlights of Macau
More about the cool things to see are available in our interactive 3D scene. Click here to see it for yourself. You can now get a glimpse of Venice without leaving Asia.
The Platform
Our technology allows the “traveller’’ to traverse the massive site, which is equivalent to 56 football fields, by simply moving the keyboard mouse and clicking on points of interest for more information or zoom in and out for a more detailed look. Our technology has the capacity to add as much detail as possible into the feature that is relevant to the traveller, such as shuttle bus services, F&B outlets and opening/closing times. Plus, you get to “experience’’ the trip by taking part in activities that are unique to the area.
For example,
• You may choose to take a “guided tour’’ which will introduce various aspects of each area in 3D.
• You may click on “points of interest’’ to get detailed information.
• You may indulge in virtual walk-throughs or take part in “activities’’, such as captaining a gondola or having a mini golf game.
