MELIÁ PANAMÁ CANAL ANNOUNCES RENOVATION PLANS AND BRAND-NEW ALL-INCLUSIVE RATE

Meliá Hotels International, one of the world’s largest hotel brands and Spain’s leading hotel group, announces today the continuation of a $4.5 million renovation plan for Meliá Panamá Canal, with completion expected by December 2014.

(TRAVPR.COM) USA - September 25th, 2014 - With the completed and further planned development of new on-site areas and activities, Meliá Panama Canal looks to become a sought-after vacation option for travelers seeking both romantic and one-of-a-kind outdoor adventures in this unique and idyllic corner of the world.

In addition to the vast renovation, the hotel has subsequently introduced a new all-inclusive rate starting from $99 per person in double occupancy rooms with up to two children free. This family-friendly deal will be valid for all stays prior to Oct. 31, 2014.

Phase One, the largest of the renovations, was completed January 2014. The already-completed, initial property updates include the complete restoration of 136 standard rooms as well as the addition of a sports bar located on the resort’s main level. All guest rooms now feature newly restored furniture, décor, and top-of-the-line, brand-new electronics. The resort’s exterior and interior public spaces additionally underwent a refurbishment extending to the Miraflores buffet restaurant, pool area and the property’s magnificent garden. The 58 remaining premium rooms, equipped with Smart TVs and fully stocked minibars, will be a main focus during Phase Two.

Additional future plans for the resort include the introduction of new activities to enhance the guest experience, including an on-site Zip-Line Canopy Tour. This dramatic addition will consist of 10 total zip lines, two of which will cross directly over Lake Gatún to offer breathtaking views alongside a thrilling experience.

The Meliá Panamá Canal offers a slew of thrilling experiences on- and off-site including exciting adventure tours, bike rides, canopy and eco-walks that offer guests the chance to admire exquisite flora and fauna of this one-of-a-kind destination. At the resort, guests can participate in paintball or take advantage of the property’s stunning golf driving range located on the Lake Gatún waters. For those who wish to leave the resort and experience Panama, the hotel offers tours that highlight native bird watching, fishing at Lake Gatún, hiking, Gatun locks, Panama Canal expansion observatory and visits to the Embera community.
