Glamping Hub Secures Series A Investment From Axon Partners Group
(TRAVPR.COM) U.S.A. - October 2nd, 2014 - SEVILLE, Spain – Glamping Hub (www.glampinghub.com) the world’s leading online booking portal dedicated to unique accommodations in nature has raised $1 million from international investment firm, Axon Partners Group (www.axonpartnersgroup.com) and other investors.
Founded in San Francisco, CA and launched in 2012 by Chief Executive Officer, David Troya, Co-Founder, Ruben Martinez, and Chief Operations Officer, Talal Benjelloun, with its development team operating in Seville, Spain, Glamping Hub is a new breed of hospitality. Glamping Hub defines glamping by providing its customers access to nature and a truly unique structure in the comforts one would find in a hotel.
Troya shares, “Something that we are really happy about is having Axon on our side from here on. Axon’s valuable investment experience with digital companies and commitment to explore new markets are crucial to our growth. It is the kind of partnership that will allow us to focus on performance and strengthen our brand.”
Areas of expansion for Glamping Hub given the financing from Axon includes increased branding efforts in the U.S., and becoming more accessible to a multi-language audience and mobile market.
Axon has invested in Glamping Hub with its ICT II Fund, a fund focused on Spanish digital startups. Axon has invested in global brands like iYogi and Just Eat, and has previously partnered with Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ) and Sequoia Capital.
Francisco Velazquez, President of Axon comments, "We are constantly looking for the next trend in the digital space. Now that traveling is much more accessible for everyone, people are starting to look for something different and that’s where Glamping Hub comes in."
With Glamping Hub in the midst of glamping, the market is trending. “Experiential travel is on the rise and we are a reference in this sector. Our demographic is more interested in purchasing experiences rather than assets,” said Troya.
Glamping Hub is not your typical technology and travel startup; and while participating in a niche market, is bigger than one would think. “Our company was born global and makes you curious,” said Troya. Born global, Glamping Hub is multi-cultural, and just within the executive team, there are three continents represented, including Africa, America, and Europe.
For the first time in Glamping Hub’s short history, Troya feels there is a complete team. Benjelloun has brought extensive hospitality management experience to the team. Chief Technology Officer, Héctor Giner has further enhanced the business through his expertise and vision of web design and programming. Glamping Hub recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, Cynthia Riddell who joins from Condé Nast and the San Francisco startup world.
Velazquez concludes, "Glamping Hub is attracting international talent to Spain, and has a young and passionate team with vast international experience in the hospitality sector. The company is leading a growing niche market that can be maximized by leveraging its strong metrics and track record."
