With the new legislation for holiday rentals (Viviendas de Uso Turistíco) imminent and the subject trending on an international level; Malaga-based holiday rentals portal Spain-holiday.com hosted a roundtable discussion that brought together vacation rental experts to discuss how and when regulations would be rolled out and the impact on the industry in Andalucía.
The Vacation Rental Summit, which took place on the 1st October 2014 at the Tamisa Golf Hotel, was a resounding success. The meeting was the first of its kind in Andalucía and brought together over 60 businesses and professionals in the holiday rental industry.
Also assisting the event was award-winning International photographer, Wayne Chasan who spoke to guests on the value of good photography for their on and offline marketing.
The event also covered the serious subject of Phishing and Hacking in the online travel business, with CEO of Spain-holiday.com, Claus Sorensen, discussing best business practice to avoid becoming victim and the future of secure booking with Spain-holiday.com
The summit will be reconvene after the final decree is published to discuss further the implications to the industry.

Apartsur Association (Asociación de Viviendas de Uso Turistico de Andalucía): Apartsur are a Seville-based organisation created by holiday rental owners to support and offer legal advice to owners who have been fined for running a holiday rental business. They have been working with the Junta de Andalucía to represent the rights of vacation rental owners during roll-out.
