Abu Dhabi, UAE – October 30th 2014. Celebrate Loy Krathong, Thailand’s spectacular “Festival of Lights”, in the authentic surroundings of Pachaylen, at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara on November 6th and 7th. Embrace Thai tradition with a traditional sharing menu, offering a selection of Pachaylen’s signature dishes including Miang Kham, Chor Muang, Tom Yum Khung, Phad Chaa Tay. The Loy Krathong Festival is named after the floating ornaments that are gently launched into the rivers and sea during the celebrations. The ritual symbolizes the releasing of negative energy and is an occasion for Thai people to give thanks to the Goddess of Water, Phra Mae Khongkha.

The floating ornaments (the “krathong”) are traditionally made from cut bamboo, trunk and bark of the banana tree, and folded banana leaves, all of which are fashioned in the appearance of a lotus flower, and decorated with candles and flowers. Each guest dining at Pachaylen for Loy Krathong will be invited to release a smaller version of the ‘krathong’ into the hotel’s water features and make a wish for good luck.
