Golfasian, Southeast Asia’s largest dedicated pure-play golf tour operator showcases new offers and makes significant progress in the Chinese market promising even greater growth.
(TRAVPR.COM) THAILAND - November 13th, 2014 - Golfasian, Southeast Asia’s largest dedicated pure-play golf tour operator, is well prepared to cater for a significant visitor influx during this upcoming period referred to in the travel industry as the High Season. For the 12 months ending July 31 Golfasian reported a 22 percent increase in turnover and the next several months can only bolster the numbers. Golfasian reports that year-on-year golf visitor volume has risen 23.4 percent to 9,756 golfers, while median revenue per person increased 9.2 percent to US$1,750. Thailand accounted for 70% of the company's revenue, Vietnam 15%, Malaysia 10%, and the rest of Asia 5%.
Critical to Golfasian’s success was the introduction of new packages; stay-and-play, amateur weeks and large scale tournaments such as the Centara World Masters, the largest amateur tournament held in South East Asia involving 500 competitors from Asia and Australia. “We have concentrated on quality and value for money, partnering with 5-star hospitality providers such as Hyatt and Hilton and playing some of the best courses Thailand has to offer; Siam Country Club, Banyan and Black Mountain golf clubs. Thailand offers an amazing golf experience, arguably unique amongst competitors such as Spain and the United States who, whilst they offer quality golf don’t necessarily have the Thai’s ingrained desire to make visitors feel truly welcome and at ease; Thailand isn’t called the Land of Smiles for nothing. The important thing is to continue to present something compelling” says Mark Siegel. “In 2015, we plan no less than 8 events, including the second edition of the Centara World Masters which promises to be even bigger”
Additionally there has been significant investment in the Chinese market including the appointment of a dedicated area sales manager, Saivi Ho. Pascal Orczech, Director of Business Development says "I am especially proud of our new Chinese language web site www.golfasian.cn. Golfasian now maintains not only the largest Asian golf travel web site in English, but Chinese as well. This will enable Chinese golfers to select the best destinations and courses for their golf holidays at the press of the button. In a short space of time the website is now attracting 900 visitors per month resulting in about 100 trip enquiries”.
