Waterville Valley Resort, NH – Sleigh Rides around the village at Waterville Valley Resort will make their first laps of the 2014/15 season on December 26th. Rides will operate weekends and holiday periods for the entire winter season.
Rides this year will feature an Austrian sleigh, equipped with upholstered seats and warm blankets, carries up to 12 passengers, and is pulled by two Belgian draft horses. This sleigh has the capability to quickly interchange runners with wheels, allowing for a longer season and more flexibility with routes. The ride will tour the village roads, which pass by scenic and historic homes and landmarks. Rates are $18 for ages 13 and over, $12 for ages 2-12, and free for kids under 2 on a lap. The entire sleigh may be reserved for $185.
For a more private experience, guests can reserve a small one-horse carriage for up to 4 guests. Rates are $100 for 2 passengers or $150 for 3 or 4 passengers.
Rides last approximately 30 minutes and are scheduled to depart every half hour on Fridays 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm, Saturdays 1:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and Sundays 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. The rides depart from Town Square, where guests can grab a warming beverage from the country store or restaurant and get cozy by the outdoor fire pit. Reservations are required, but even last minute reservations are welcome.
