Holiday events kick off on December 21st with World Snowboard Day. A day that has come to be known as the World’s Largest Snowboarding Event, it’s a great time for both novice and experienced riders to get out and shred. Waterville Valley Resort is offering a discount on their Learn to Ride program, which includes a lesson, rentals, and a lower mountain lift ticket. Experienced riders can hit up New Hampshire’s #1 ranked terrain parks and win prizes from the park crew.
Olympic Gold Medalist Hannah Kearney, whose home mountain is Waterville Valley Resort, will host a Meet & Ski on December 26th. Guests can ski with Hannah starting at 10am followed by photos and autographs from 1-2pm in the Base Lodge. On December 27th, Waterville Valley Resort’s mascot, Bruce the Moose, will be having his annual Birthday Bash, featuring cupcakes for guests and a mountain wide scavenger hunt. That evening will also mark the return of Starry Nights, one of New Hampshire’s most unique dining experiences. Guests will ride up the Valley Run Quad under the stars and ski or ride their way to the Sunnyside Timberlodge. After cocktails, appetizers, and entertainment, guests will enjoy a gourmet meal featuring pecan-crusted lamb chops, lobster ravioli, and carved herb-crusted tenderloin served along sides of oven roasted vegetables and seafood pasta. Afterwards, guests will ski or ride their way down Valley Run in a torchlight parade.
All of these events take place amongst regular activities at Waterville Valley Resort, which was ranked #1 in New Hampshire in Off-Hill Activities and Kid Friendly Activities by SKI Magazine. Guests can enjoy tubing, dogsled and sleigh rides, and fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Waterville has also expanded their Saturday après this season to 7pm. In addition to live entertainment, après at Buckets will also include s’mores, a movie for kids, drink specials, and a raffle to win a ride in a snow cat.
