A deal for the Portuguese holiday island of Santa Maria is the firm’s flagship offer. From April 2015, holidaymakers can stay for 7 nights with bed and breakfast, in the Hotel Colombo for £222 per head. All flights and airport taxes are included in the price. The modern four-star hotel is located on the outskirts of the small town of Vila do Porto, and offers the spa facilities many modern travellers now expect.

During 2014, demand for five and four star hotel packages was strong and rose. Many in the travel industry expect this trend to continue in 2015.After a long period of belt tightening the British public are ready to spend again and they want to treat themselves, but are still looking for value for money.

Many hoteliers have responded to this demand by upgrading their existing buildings and installing new facilities turning their premises into four or five star establishments.  The owners of the Hotel Colombo did this a few years ago adding a fitness centre, Jacuzzi and massage centre to their existing sports and pool facilities.

The tourist industry of the island of the Azores is currently quiet small. However, is expected to grow during 2015. Ryan Air announced, in 2014, that they would be setting up a base at Ponta Delgada Airport. Once the centre is running at full capacity Ryan Air expects to carry 350,000 customers. They have confirmed new routes to and from London Stansted, Lisbon and Porto. In the future, they may also offer be flights to Terceira, and some other islands.

Demand for cruise holidays is also rising, which is why A1 Travel are also offering special cruising deals. Holidaymakers can now book a 7-night Gulet cruise between April and October from £359 per person. Return flights to Dalaman are included in the deal. Those that book this cruise will travel on a traditional Turkish Gulet crafted from wood. They range in size from 26-39.35 metres and accommodate between 14 and 25 guests, and offer travellers a unique way to enjoy Turkey. The yachts take travellers to secluded bays that cannot be accessed from the land.

The A1 Travel team plan to add more luxury travel deals throughout 2015. However, they will be focusing on offering these deals at a low cost to ensure the majority of their customer base can afford these package holidays.
