Photo exhibit of Caribbean destinations
(TRAVPR.COM) USA - February 3rd, 2015 - American oarsman, Victor Mooney has been invited to the Miami International Boat Show (February 12 through 16) by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) to share the last leg of a 5,000 mile solo transatlantic row.
This is one of the largest boat shows in the United States attracting over 100,000 visitors. Mr. Mooney successfully rowed across the Atlantic Ocean and arrived in St. Martin last year.
South African Arts International will mount a photo exhibition of the places Mr. Mooney rested and rejuvenated his body at the show. The oarsman has designated each day to share the beauty of the islands as follows:
February 12 – Canary Islands Day, February 13 – Puerto Rico Day, February 14 – British Virgin Islands Day , February 15 – St. Martin (FWI)/ Sint Maarten (DWI) Day , February 16 – Dominican Republic Day
The Spirit of Malabo, Mooney’s twenty-four foot Brazilian build ocean rowboat will also be on display. Miami's world renowned Yacht Builder, Spencer Boat Company, is repairing the boat pro-bono for Mooney. Mr. Mooney’s rowing feat is in honor of his brother who died of AIDS and to encourage voluntary HIV testing.
