The tournament is organized by the Masters Tournament, The R & A and the United States Golf Association.
Casa de Campo has been named as the number one golf resort in the world by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators. The annual winner of the LAAC champion is invited to compete in the Masters Tournament. In addition, the winner and those that come in second will participate in the qualifying stages of The British Open and the US Open Championship.

The 2016 LAAC will take the best players from the region to the Teeth of the Dog Golf Course, one of the most prestigious courses in the Caribbean and the world.
Designed by Pete Dye and built in the early seventies Teeth of the Dog, in Casa de Campo, features seven seaside holes, making it one of the most impressive courses in all of Latin America. “It is a great honour for us to have been selected to host this prestigious championship,” said Rafael Torres, President of Casa de Campo.
