Industry: Destinations

Visitors will be able to appreciate the region’s coastal lakes, meadows and mountain scenery and will link the Punta Cana region, and the Punta Cana International Airport, with the northeast coastal town of Miches.

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - February 12th, 2015 - The Dominican Republic begins construction on a Modern Highway and a Four Seasons Hotel in the Pristine Northeast Town of Miches

The Four Seasons hotel chain will open its latest facility in Miches, on the country’s northeast Atlantic Coast.

Beginning in early 2015 the region will also be connected to the Punta Cana region and its modern international airport through a recently built highway. The 72-kilometer stretch of highway will border the region’s impressively beautiful coastline.

Visitors will be able to appreciate the region’s coastal lakes, meadows and mountain scenery and will link the Punta Cana region, and the Punta Cana International Airport, with the northeast coastal town of Miches.

This is a high-end, ecologically friendly, real estate project that will be able to accommodate up to 10 high standard hotels, similar to Four Seasons standards.

The New Highway
53 kilometres of the new highway between Ubero Alto and Miches is already opened to traffic, which has significantly reduced the travel time, thus facilitating tourism and trade in the country’s eastern region, with the highest number of hotel rooms in the country.

In 2014 the Punta Cana International Airport received more than 2.9 million tourists, the highest number registered in the Caribbean. The new highway complex known as the Eastern Corridor will stretch 258 kilometres and cut through the region’s four most important provinces.

Uvero Alto Hotels
In Punta Cana’s Uvero Alto region, one of the most beautiful in the country, visitors will find truly beautiful and excellent hotels. The last hotel to open in the region was the “CHIC Punta Cana by Royalton,” a luxury 319-rooms, adults-only facility owned by the Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts chain.

This pristine region is also home to the “Sirenis Cocotal Resort Casino & Aquagames,” a 427-room hotel featuring one of the largest water parks in the area. The 12,000 square meter park is an important attraction for children, adolescents and adults.

The 55-room Sivory Punta Cana features modern and sophisticated suites, most with ocean views. The hotel is a member of the “Small Luxury Hotels” and “Affluent Traveller,” a worldwide network of luxury hotels.

Also found in Uvero Alto is the Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana Boutique Hotel, operated by the AM Resorts chain, an all-inclusive 96-room facility with two lagoon-style swimming pools and three restaurants.

Miches
The town of Miches was founded in the early nineteenth century and is located south of the Bay of Samaná, on the Atlantic Ocean. It is situated near Punta Cana, with a population of 21,198.
Its main attractions are its incredible beaches, impressive coastline, wetlands, and unique lagoons. The town is surrounded by a beautiful mountain range featuring a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing winds from the northwest.
