Waterville Valley, NH – The Nordic Center at Waterville Valley Resort is hosting a number of events this March. Capitalizing on record amounts of snow and forecasts for great weather over the next few weeks, the resort will be able to show off one of New England’s best Nordic trail systems. There is Nordic Nights and a Women’s Clinic on March 7 and a Paintball Biathlon on March 14–15.
Nordic Nights is a spinoff of Waterville Valley’s popular Starry Nights dinners. This unique night in the Valley begins with a guided tour through parts of Waterville’s Nordic trails under a full moon. Guests can choose Nordic skis or snowshoes and the tour can vary depending on their skill level. The night ends with a private gourmet buffet at The Valley Pub & Grill.
On March 14–15, the Nordic Center hosts its first paintball biathlon. It’s a sprint format race for ages 6 and up. It’s non-competitive, but gives both kids and adults a chance to experience a sport for which most resorts do not have the facilities. After a number of loops, depending on skill level, competitors will shoot at a variety of targets with paintball guns. Participants can register for either or both days.
The Women’s Clinic on March 7 consists of a full day at the Nordic Center that includes lessons, equipment care, and après. Information on all of these events can be found at waterville.com and guests can register by calling the Nordic Center at 603-236-4666.
