DominicanaModa 2015 (DM15), with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, will this year be celebrating its tenth anniversary.  The event has become the most important event of the Caribbean Fashion Calendar and is one of the most prestigious.  This celebration parade platform shall consist of the best of Dominican and Latin American design in an attractive calendar of shows starting on Tuesday 20 and ends on Saturday 24th October 2015.

To commemorate the event, the world famous French fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, will visit the country together with his team to present his haute couture collection on Saturday 24 October, 2015 in "Fashion for Help" in Santo Domingo, capital city of the Dominican Republic - a milestone in the history of fashion in the region.

The event "Fashion for Help" closes the event each year with a flourish for DominicanaModa; and is a one of the fundraising activities for local charities. The event will be held on Saturday April 24 to showcase the designers’ collection as the closing parade for DM15 and concluding with an exclusive gala dinner in honour of Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Since its inception the event has had a spirit of social responsibility, so that part of the income goes to more than 40 charities in the country, which is the ideology of the project, and they spend much of the proceeds to fund humanitarian work carried out by various foundations to the neediest children in the Dominican Republic such as:

• Safe the Children Dominican Republic

• Child Home

• Aids for Aids Dominican

• Foundation helps the malnourished child

• The Merced Foundation shoeshine boys

• Friends Foundation Childhood Cancer

• Foundation joined hands by autism

The business platform, which has become the industry showcase in the clothing, footwear, jewellery and beauty industry, expects buyers from the Caribbean region and wider spectrum. The Occidental Hotel Ambassador located in the cosmopolitan city of Santo Domingo, will again be the venue for this international fashion event.
