(TRAVPR.COM) INDONESIA - March 20th, 2015 - Sheraton Bandung Hotel & Towers (SBHT) proudly announces that on Saturday, 28 March 2015 at 20:30 pm, the SBHT will take part on the event of Earth Hour 2015. This will mark the seventh year of our participation in the global environmental sustainability event.
Earth hour is a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet, and is organized by WWF. Engaging a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement.
Earth Hour is more than an annual event – it is a movement that culminates in an hour of inspiration across the world held towards the end of March each year. Sheraton Bandung will observe the Earth Hour by turning off some non-essential lights around the hotel entrance, lobby, restaurant and other public areas. In addition, Sheraton Bandung will also encourage the hotel’s guest’s participation in the event by requesting them to turn off the lights in their rooms and gather along at the Feast Restaurant. To commemorate the event, Feast Restaurant will offer a traditional music performance (kecapi suling), as the guests can enjoy the peaceful night while maintain the awareness on the sustainability of the earth.
For the event, Sheraton Bandung will provide a 25% discount for dinner buffet at Feast Restaurant on Saturday, 28 March 2015 and Toastina Pastry and Coffee House offering 25% discount for beverage for guest who bringing their own tumbler. The offer is valid from 16 March – 31 March 2015.
This year will mark Starwood’s seventh annual participation in Earth Hour, making it one of the largest worldwide companies to make a pronounced global statement with a voluntary hour of darkness. Earth Hour is just one of the many ways Starwood acts in support of its 30/20 by 20 goals, which is the company’s commitment to reduce energy consumption by 30% and water consumption by 20% by 2020 across its entire portfolio.
