See Asia Differently has partnered with award-winning photographer John McDermott to offerenthusiastic photographers a private eight-day photo expedition and workshop through the Angkor Archaeological Park and surrounding areas led by John himself.
(TRAVPR.COM) CAMBODIA - May 4th, 2015 - This is an excellent opportunity for photographers of all abilities from those who have just picked up their first camera to professionals who want to refine their techniques.
During this photo expedition the guests will get an insider’s guide to some of the most awe inspiring temples in the world. From the famous Angkor Wat described as being Cambodia’s heart to the hill top temple of Preah Viher which many believe to be Cambodia’s soul.
John McDermott, the host of the tour, has been described by The New York Times as “the Ansel Adams of Angkor,” writing that his photographs are “not just beautiful but iconic. . . dreamlike photos which look as though they were taken in an ancient, forgotten world.” John first came to Angkor in 1995 to witness a total eclipse of the sun over Angkor Wat. Inspired by the otherworldly light of the eclipse, he spent over a decade creating a definitive portrait of the ancient temples and the living Cambodian culture around them.
John has received accolades at the Lux and Awards, ADDY Awards, Epson International Pano Awards and the Black and White Spider Awards. His photographs can be seen in his fine art book Elegy: Reflections on Angkor and in his galleries in Siem Reap. His images are also on display at the National Museum in Phnom Penh and have been published and exhibited worldwide.
