Triposo no longer just helps you decide what to see on your trip, it also gets you the tickets
(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 1st, 2015 - Las Vegas (May 2 2015) - With its latest update Triposo, the travel guide app with 10 M downloads, has taken the next step. It is extending its smart recommendation engine to also cover a wide range of transactions. Triposo now helps travelers book their complete trip on the go, with hotel deals, attraction tickets, amazing experiences and local tours.
From its start, the Berlin-based startup has focused on giving travelers personal and hyperlocal recommendations on where to go and what to do. Triposo is founded by two ex-Googlers and takes an algorithmic approach to travel. The app uses personal preferences, location and time of day to come up with fresh and inspiring suggestions every time you open the app. With this latest update, Triposo is taking recommendations one step further: in just three taps gets you tickets to the places and sights you want to see.
“We’re still about the smartness,” comments Douwe Osinga, founder and CEO. “The starting point is not that travelers get our app because they want to buy tickets. They open our app to figure out what to do and that’s where our strength is. But if you arrive in Milan and we help you figure out that the one thing to see before you leave is The Last Supper, you need a hand to be able to get in. You need tickets. That’s the feature we’ve added now. We can store your credit card details and we can make transactions happen with different providers of hotel rooms, attraction tickets, walking tours and experiences, without leaving the app. You can book them in the smoothest possible way. Just three taps and you’re set.”
“The way it is set up, is as follows,” explains Jon. “If you do a transaction with Triposo, we store your payment information in a vault. The information there is safe and you can use it for other transactions. We can then connect you to a number of different partners. Each of these partners cover a part of your itinerary. So we can sell you museum tickets for many major museums directly, and for a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon we can make the reservations with Viator. For all hotels during your trip the traveler make the reservations with Booking.com. During all of this travelers can use the card that’s stored safely in the vault. It doesn’t go through our servers and it’s not stored on the device.”
