C.A.R.E. Appoints First Advisory Board Member
(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 8th, 2015 - The Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers (C.A.R.E.) Board of Directors recently appointed its first Advisory Board Member at the 60th Semi-Annual Conference in Annapolis, Maryland May 2-5, 2015. Paul Mattimoe, with Perspective Group out of Orlando, Florida was asked, and accepted, the first appointment.
C.A.R.E.’s Board of Directors currently consists of nine board members – Linda Mayhugh, President, Debbie Sansom, Secretary, Vikki Lessard, Treasurer and Vice Presidents Tina Hill, Jeff Ingram, Jim Kwock, Torie Quakenbush, James Wehrle and Spence Witten. Per the C.A.R.E. Bylaws each Director shall be the Authorized Member Representative of a Voting Membership, as described in Article II, Section A and shall have successfully completed Level I of the C.A.R.E. Accreditation Program. Article II, Section A defines the above reference as being gainfully employed by a General Membership and either possess and/or control resort inventory.
The C.A.R.E. Board of Directors determined more input was needed from their Associate Membership base. Associate Members are those entities that do not possess or control resort inventory but have an interest in the membership as a means of business enhancement as a service provider. Associate Members currently account for 20% of C.A.R.E.’s membership and while that is on the low end of the spectrum, these members bring great value to the association and the Directors felt it was time to seek input from them, with hopes not only to stabilize but to grow this sector.
C.A.R.E.’s President Linda Mayhugh, stated that “creating this Advisory Board Member position opens up a voice for an important sector of C.A.R.E. memberships and one that all of our Directors would like to see grow”. Mayhugh further clarified that “Mattimoe, as an Advisory Board Member will not have any voting rights of a Director but will attend the pre-conference board meetings before each semi-annual conference and most importantly chair an Associate Membership Committee bringing valuable input back to the Board of Directors in these meetings. I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Paul in this capacity and am confident he will bring value to our already solid Board of Directors”.
Paul Mattimoe, President & CEO, Perspective Group said this about his appointment… “C.A.R.E. has been such an integral part of the vacation ownership industry for the past 30 years and I am deeply honored to become the first Advisory Board Member. I have certainly benefitted from my participation in C.A.R.E. over the last several years through meeting many new people and being so warmly welcomed into the family. So it will be my pleasure to help wherever I can to serve the board, the members and to further grow this invaluable association.”
