HUGE INCREASE IN DEMAND FOR HOLIDAYS IN DORSET
Industry: Holiday Rentals

What has made this county so popular?

(TRAVPR.COM) UK - June 15th, 2015 - The summer bookings have increased dramatically in this area of the UK.  Mulberry Cottages has been amazed by the increase in online searches for holidays in the area, with bookings up across the UK by almost a quarter on last year.  Emma Valente from Mulberry Cottages said ‘we are very pleased with the increase in demand for Dorset holiday cottages and look forward to a great summer’.

Seaside favourites including West Bay are proving as successful as ever, according to one agency, which is reporting a 134 per cent increase in online visits to its coastal destinations in Dorset.

Local businesses are preparing for a busy summer season in their cafes, bars and restaurants “Last year was extremely busy and I’m expecting this summer to be even better for us,” said Mike Ackerman, manager at the Anchors Aweigh restaurant in West Bay.

It seems that Broadchurch and other films and television productions have made the general public aware of this beautiful part of the UK, and for those living in London, it is easier to get to than the usual holiday destinations such as Devon and Cornwall.

There has been a strong start to the tourism season, with a busy half-term followed by plenty of lovely sunny weather – the perfect recipe for great self catering holidays in Dorset.

So what is going on in Dorset?   Famous for its landscape such as Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Cerne Abbas Giant, its thatched cottages and idyllic villages and of course Dorset Cereals, birthplace of Clipper Teas and the very famous Dorset Knob, Dorset is surging in popularity!
