(TRAVPR.COM) PORTUGAL - August 20th, 2015 - Vale do Rio Rural Hotel was the first eco hotel in Portugal. This innovative tourism project takes the most from the power of renewable energies to support its guests’ stay. The energy, literally, comes from Nature, with all the electricity used being locally produced by their own mini-hydric station, which dates back to the end of 1800, and from other renewable sources. The 4 star hotel was built in 2011, with a strong focus on the sustainability of its daily operations.
Located in the green heart of the city of Oliveira de Azeméis, it is configured as a true ecologic hotel. Besides hydric sourced energy, the hotel also uses other renewable sources of energy such as wind energy, solar energy, photovoltaic energy, biomass and biodiesel energy, all of them working together to provide energy for its 30 rooms – 21 double and 9 single, including an adapted suite for disabled guests.
Located on the waterfront of the river Caima, in Palmaz, the Vale do Rio Hotel can be defined as a unique property, pleasant and quiet, comfortable and surrounded by a romantic atmosphere. This hotel is ideal for families, couples and all of those looking for a restful time within nature.
Guests from Vale do Rio Rural Hotel can also experience the Four Elements Spa, with hot stones or bamboo massages, Turkish bath and Jacuzzi among other pampering moments. For all the nature and fresh air lovers, there are pedestrian trails around the property, and the hotel also provides bicycles and other activities to explore its green surroundings.
At HC – Hídrica do Caima Restaurant, cuisine is regional and Chef Artur Martins, a fan of refinement, complements the perfect and tasty meals with a unique view over the river.
Quinta do Caima is the last investment of Vale do Rio and allows them to offer a brand new building for wider dimension events with capacity up to 300 people who can enjoy this polished, ample space with an incredible natural landscape.
