Bateshwar is a village located at a distance of 70 kms. far from Agra and is well know for its cattle fair.
(TRAVPR.COM) INDIA - September 14th, 2015 - Bateshwar has a great fame all over the World because of ancient temples built on the bank of river Yamuna. These major temples are dedicated to lord Shiva and Vishnu and are built in different time period. At this holy site people claim to have more than 100 temples, but presently only some of them are intact.
Besides temples the place has a big fame on account of the cattle fair. This fair attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. In this fair like the Pushkar cattle fair different sorts of cattle like horses, donkeys, mules and other animals are for sale and local administration arranges for the facilities.
In the previous year 2015 there had been a great horse show. In this fair there were many riders who shown their miraculous feats. This fair was inaugurated by the honorable chief Minister of U.P Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, Mr. Rishiraj from the Royal family of Awagarh was the arch hero of the show. This year as well like the previous year the state tourism department in collaboration with the local authorities is trying to promote this horse show and attract more tourists.
