(TRAVPR.COM) USA - October 13th, 2015 - The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF), who supports hospitality workers facing a financial crisis due to medical conditions, was named the beneficiary of the live charity auction at the annual Canadian Resort Conference. The conference, held on behalf of the Canadian Resort Development Association (CRDA), took place on September 10, 2015 at the Pan Pacific Hotel.CRDA is an industry-based association dedicated to furthering vacation ownership in Canada and throughout the world, and this annual conference was an opportunity to bring together association members and non- members from Canada, USA, Mexico, the Caribbean and beyond, to learn more about vacation ownership and the resort marketplace.
Jon Zwickel, president & CEO of the CRDA said, “We choose the BCHF because it’s an industry charity that provides global stakeholders an opportunity to share their resources to help people on a local level. Conference attendees donated numerous items and the auction raised $14,650 for the Foundation.”
Alan Sacks, executive director of the BCHF was invited to give attendees a brief presentation about the work of the Foundation, before the auction began. After hearing about the work of the Foundation, the conference attendees from Canada, the US and Mexico generously opened their hearts and their wallets, to make a difference in the lives of their fellow workers.
