CitiesBeautiful.org’s latest additions are Chicago, London, Melbourne, Prague, and Seoul. CitiesBeautiful.org also introduces YouTube photo tours of each city, and a “Drawing Board” menu tab describing major development projects in every city.
(TRAVPR.COM) UNITED STATES - November 17th, 2015 - CitiesBeautiful.org, which has analyzed and mapped thousands of beautiful sites in cities around the world, is continually expanding the number of cities featured at the website. Five cities have recently been added – Chicago, London, Melbourne, Prague, and Seoul – bringing the total to 25 cities on 6 continents. Every city webpage has a categorized listing of dozens of beautiful sites, an interactive map showing their exact locations, and links to detailed descriptions of each site.
A new feature is a video photo tour of every city. Each four-minute video offers photos of the city’s top 35 to 45 beautiful sites. Included with this press release is the link for the photo tour of San Francisco.
Also new is the Drawing Board tab in the main menu, for everyone curious about what major projects are likely to shape the beauty of each city. For example, at the Drawing Board webpage for Seoul, South Korea, is a description of the proposed “Skygarden” on a one kilometer elevated highway, inspired by New York City’s very popular High Line Park.
By registering at the website’s “Blog” tab, website visitors can receive email alerts when new cities, Drawing Board projects, and other content is added to CitiesBeautiful.org.
About CitiesBeautiful.org
CitiesBeautiful.org promotes the appreciation of cities around the world. Website visitors learn a 15 term vocabulary describing beautiful urban places, collectively known as “Beautiful Facets”. The 15 Beautiful Facets derive from common threads in the theories on beauty put forth by famous commentators from Ancient Greek times to the present.
Since “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, everyone has favorites among the 15 Beautiful Facets. Website visitors can determine their favorite Beautiful Facets by answering a series of multiple-choice psychometric questions, somewhat like an occupational aptitude test. CitiesBeautiful.org has categorized and mapped thousands of sites in cities around the world according to the 15 Beautiful Facets. Once visitors establish their preferences from among the Beautiful Facets, CitiesBeautiful.org provides customized tours of 25 cities.
The CitiesBeautiful.org website contains a considerable amount of additional information. For example, see the website’s “Beautiful Book” tab for a free e-book containing brief biographies on 40 of the most important aesthetic philosophers, architects, city planners, and behavioral psychologists over the last 2,600 years; a thorough explanation of each the 15 Beautiful Facets; a detailed explanation of the method used for calculating the Cities Beautiful Index (CBI) of each city; and much more!
