Making the announcement, Haytham Aziz, Hotel Manager, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah, said, "Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is recognized worldwide as critical to a hotel's compliance with national or international food safety legislation and we are proud to have got it with the highest score that qualifies us to apply for ISO certification. The assessment for HACCP was carried out by BSI Management Systems in two stages. During the first phase, the organisation ensured that the necessary HACCP procedures and controls had been developed at Coral Beach Resort Sharjah. Once all requirements were in place, inspectors from BSI assessed the implementation of the procedures and controls within the hotel to make sure that they are working effectively as required for certification.

All food and beverage operations and dining outlets across the resort were thoroughly scrutinized during the inspection including receiving, cleaning, storing, preparation (hot & cold), handling and serving areas of F&B.

The HACCP scheme meets the requirements of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) – established by the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to bring together international food standards, guidelines and codes of practice.
