(TRAVPR.COM) USA - March 7th, 2016 - Waterville Valley, NH – The Mike Banker Banked Slalom race will be returning to Waterville Valley Resort on March 11, 2016. It’s one of New England’s largest banked slalom events and expects to top 150 participants. The Banked Slalom is joined on the calendar by two Nordic events hosted by the Adventure Center, a “Free Heelers Day” on March 5th, a series of college events, a fat bike race, the Wheel of Deals every Friday, an Easter celebration, and discounts for St. Patrick’s Day and April Fool’s Day.
The Adventure Center will be hosting two Nordic events and a fat bike race in the month of March. There is a Nordic Ski-Cross race on March 5th and an Advanced Skate Clinic hosted by 4-time Olympian Kris Freeman on March 13th. The inaugural Frosty Crank Fat Bike Race will also be taking place on March 20th. In addition to the Nordic Ski-Cross, March 5th will feature a telemark ski clinic as well as the Winter Wild Up & Down Race. The Winter Wild is a head-to-head race where participants race up the mountain and back down before the slopes open.
Those looking for a great deal or just a reason to celebrate will also find plenty at Waterville Valley Resort. College students are welcome to the mountain on March 6th when a valid college ID will get them a lift ticket and BBQ lunch for just $44. Fridays in March will be College Days, where students can get a lift ticket for $20 and there will be live entertainment from 2-5pm at Buckets. Fridays will also see the return of the Wheel of Deals. Everyone on the mountain is welcome to come to the deck at Buckets to spin the Wheel and earn a variety of discounts and prizes. Easter Sunday will feature a sunrise service atop Mt. Tecumseh, an Easter brunch at T-Bars, and an Easter Egg Hunt. The resort’s traditional $17 St. Patrick’s Day Lift Tickets and April’ Fool’s Day $1 Lift Tickets will also return on March 17th and April 1st respectively.
