A new Grasshopper Adventures evening cycling tour in Siem Reap introduces visitors to authentic Cambodian street food.
(TRAVPR.COM) CAMBODIA - March 28th, 2016 -
Foodie tours are all the rage these days and Grasshopper Adventures already offers specialized food oriented tours in Chiang Mai and Mandalay. Now they are adding a third tour to their list with the introduction of the new 'Bike & Bite Foodie Ride' in Siem Reap. Although many of their tours include tasty local meals, the foodie tours offer a deeper look into the local cuisines of those countries in which they operate.
Cambodian street food is not as famous, or as accessible, as that of Thailand, so this tour offers the perfect opportunity for the culinarily adventurous to explore some of the wonders of authentic Khmer cuisine in the confident knowledge that their friendly and experienced guide can tell them exactly what it is they are eating! Along with the expected noodles and sticky rice there will also be some more exotic items on the menu for those who are curious, including deep fried tarantula and a range of other bugs. The tour ends with a light meal at the home of a local family, where the food is served in their vegetable garden.
The cycling is entirely on the flat, with a distance of around 15-18km covered over the 3 and a half hour tour. The entire route is on surfaced small roads and alleys, with an easy and relaxed riding pace. A support van transfers riders back to the Grasshopper shop at the end of the tour.
