(TRAVPR.COM) UK - August 19th, 2016 - Ntchisi Forest Lodge is proud to present the very first edition of Rhythms of the Rainforest. With a variety of local artists like Charles Mkanthama, Konkalazi and The Roots, different music styles will be represented in the weekend of Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September 2016.
Rhythms of the Rainforest is a one of a kind acoustic event in Malawi’s Central region. The event will take place between Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th September 2016 and presents a variety of local artists like Charles Mkanthama and Burning Woods from Ntchisi, Neil Nayar, Konkalazi, The Roots and Mbanaye. The music will include traditional, reggae and afro-blues among styles. In an intimate and relaxed setting, a variety of music sessions will take place in the rainforest, the garden of the lodge and on sunset rock.
With the event, the artists and the lodge want to raise awareness on the importance of the forest, which is one of the last and most stunning pieces of indigenous tropical rainforest in Malawi. The forest is under a lot of pressure from loggers and poachers, especially now with the devastating effects of el Niño and the corresponding food-crisis in Malawi.
