Accessible Romania
(TRAVPR.COM) ROMANIA - October 6th, 2016 - World Tourism Day and its 2016 “Tourism for All” Theme was celebrated in Romania by a joint initiative of the local NGO, non-profit Association CED Romania – Centrul de Excelenta prin Diversitate (Center of Excellence through Diversity) and of the Romanian tour operator Sano Touring by launching the Accessible Romania www.AccessibleRomania.com Project, which we have already listed in the European Accessible Tourism Directory Pantou.
Current accessible Romania represents unfortunately just a very small part of a country that can offer unique cultural, historic and natural experiences. Through informing, networking, awareness raising, educational and training actions, the ambition of the Association CED Romania is to support public and private efforts for reaching a larger infrastructure to allow universal access, more adapted transportation facilities, more tourist attractions that can be visited by all, adapted accommodation and food and beverage services in most tourist locations, tourism staff educated to create accessible tourism offers and to respond in a highly professional manner to accessible tourism requests.
Designed with a multi-lingual content (English, French, German and Romanian) and respecting web-accessibility standards, www.AccessibleRomania.com aims to become the informational and one-stop-shop hub on Romania for all.
The FAQ section include general information on Romania: location, access, historical regions and specifics, official contacts, useful information for travelers, etc.
The Blog section includes specific information on accessible travel destinations and tourist attractions, which are marketed worldwide by Sano Touring, the only Romanian inbound tour operator addressing accessible tourism who designed specific travel products (holiday packages, tours or city breaks) adapted especially for seniors, people with motor impairments or wheelchair users. Sano Touring is member of the European Network for Accessible Tourism ENAT, is listed in the European Accessible Tourism Directory Pantou, and in Lonely Planet’s “Accessible Travel Online Resources” Collection (January 2016).
The Partners section includes links to local and international organizations that supports our efforts to raise awareness on Accessible Romania, promote it and constantly further develop its attractiveness for all.
