Cancun Kicks Off 2017 On The Right Foot  

Cancun, Mexico (January 26, 2017) – The Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud to start the year with a vast array of new announcements that will keep travelers coming back for more. With an increasing number of visitors each year, Cancun works hard to provide guests from all around the world with unique experiences that will create memorable vacations for all of them.

With several projects under way, including the addition of new hotels and a wide range of international activities and events scheduled for 2017, Cancun expects a very thrilling year. Its white-sand beaches, world-renowned gastronomy, high air connectivity and thrilling adventure offerings make it a must-visit locale for tourists of all ages year-round.

To help continue to ease travel for visitors from across the U.S. and Canada throughout 2017, the Cancun International Airport is currently working on the addition of a new terminal and an integrated 126-room property, slated for completion in 2017 and 2018 respectively. The airport has also seen a rise in flights from the U.S. this past year due to the lift in flight restrictions established by the U.S. and Mexican government in August 2016.

Projections for 2017 are already looking bright for Cancun, as AAA recently named it among the top international destinations with the most notable increases in travel bookings for 2016. CheapOair also included Cancun as one of its top contestants in its “International Destinations on the Rise in 2017” list.
