(TRAVPR.COM) VIETNAM - April 27th, 2017 - Mekong Rustic is a community-based project founded by Huong Duong Travel Management Company with the representative of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich since December 2014. Mekong Rustic is built on the basis of cooperation, training and investment in Cai be and Tan Phong Isles for local households. It includes tranining sessions specialized in tour-guide skills, product and services knowledge, homestay, on-board service and F&B. Mekong Rustic does not benefit any individuals but all households participating in the project and support the local community as well as sustainable tourism industry in Tan Phong, Cai Be, Tien Giang.
The project aims to introduce Mekong people’s daily activities to visitors, improve the local living standard, preserve traditional handicraft villages, culture values and develop sustainable tourism locally and nationally.
Mekong Rustic strongly commits to develop tourism activities that have the least impact on the environment and local culture. We train and coordinate with the local people to create sustainable and responsible tourism activities in the area of Tan Phong, Cai Be, Tien Giang.
Our commitmentis to work responsiblytowards partners and clients regard to providing the best service in Tan Phong, Cai Be. All bookings will be responsedat the soonest within 24 hours of receiving.
Additionally, We particularly use and train the local labor force in all operation activities as well as support the local community in environmental & cultural protection and charity works.
Homestay experience
Mekong Rustic homestay is not described simply as aregular accommodation. It is a great experience that all guests willimmerse in lifestyle and everyday life of the local people in the Mekong Delta. You will come as a guest but leave as a friend. Prepare and cook a family meal by joining cooking demostration with the host is a great highlight for those who love Asian and Vietnamese cuisine.
Currently, we have 2 homestay in Mekong Delta families with the capacity of 10 guests per house
Mekong river boat ride
Currently, we owns 4 fully-equipped wooden boats. The biggest one can accommodate up to 30 passengers, 2 medium-sized ones’s capcity of 20 passengers and the smallest one can carry 10 passengers. All boats are registed and equipped with life jackets, seats and covers.
Cycling tour around Tan phong isles
Cycling is possibly the most environmentally friendly and easiest way to go around, breath the fresh air and enjoy an extremely peaceful countryside scenery on the isles . Our 20 bikes all can be borrowed free of charge.
Local cuisine experience
Lunch and dinner are servedat the local homestay where all guests can cook with the host. The restaurant can accommodate up to 40 guests for lunch and 20 dinner guests.
Our menu was carefully prepared by the local chef and adjusted based on previous guests’ review and comments by Mekong Rustic Management team.

Gardening
Visit a farmer garden where you can engage in conversation with them about gardening and tropical fruits. Pick any fruit you like and enjoy it right inside the garden. It is highlight of Mekong delta tour
Ditch fishing hook
Wearing a traditional outfit of Mekong Delta farmers, guests and local guide can try your luck to fish your own dinner.
Jackfruit leaf cake
Picking jackfruit leaves off the trees, prepare ingredients, dough, roll the cake and cook it. Jackfruit leaf cake is very popular and easy to make. It takes 30-45 minutes until you can eat your homemade cake with coconut milk (paste).
Shop at the local farmers’ market
In the early morning, it is a great idea to walk or cycle to the local farmer market where you can meet and watch the local farmers purchase their produces over a coffee in the market.
Đờn Ca Tài Tử Folksong
Don Ca Tai Tu isrecognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by Unesco. As our commitment, we are working on preserving local cultural and art values by supporting the local Don ca tai tu club.
Rowing boat on canals
The Mekong River is a life-source to the 60 million people that live within the lower Mekong basin. Rowing boat naturally becomes one of the most common mean of transportation. We let you immerse in the beautiful scenic canals route and experience it like a local.
Netting/Fishing on river
Fishing is one of the daily-life activities ofthe local people. Join with the local fisherman to net is an interesting way to localize yourself.
Local traditional handicraft
The local traditional handicraft village of hammock has gradually being faded over time. So that Mekong Rustic wishes to help the local people to preserve these villages, from that, rise their income and living standard by bringingguests to experience hammock-making process with our friendly and enthusiastic host.
