Opportunities to enjoy mountain events and activities for Fourth of July 2017
(TRAVPR.COM) USA - June 23rd, 2017 - CONWAY, NH —With a growing number of summer activities gracing the Granite State’s slopes during the warmer months of the year, many of Ski NH’s ski area members are planning to celebrate Independence Day weekend with special events, fireworks, concerts, and more.
Waterville Valley Resort in Waterville Valley, N.H.,has patriotic plans for the entire weekend, including live music in the Waterville Valley Town Square (July 1-4), a Live Animal Encounter show with New Hampshire wildlife (July 2), an Independence Day Family Carnival and Beach Movie Night (July 2), and a parade and fireworks (July 4). The resort also offers boating, golf, tennis, chairlift rides, and biking all summer.
Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, N.H. is putting on its first ever Americana Celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 4, which will transform the base area into an All-American backyard barbecue, complete with live music from Shark Martin and beer from Tuckerman Brewing Company. In addition to Cranmore’s plentiful summer activities in the Aerial and Mountain Adventure Parks, the event will also have free cornhole, Big Jenga, a bubble blowing station, Connect Four, a scavenger hunt, Yardzee, a water balloon toss, a potato sack race, and fill the bucket.
Bretton Woods in Bretton Woods, N.H. will host the Star Spangled Spectacular on July 4, starting at 5 p.m. with a bouncy house, lawn games, face painting, and balloon animals, plus a country cook-out, and live entertainment from the Crunchy Western Boys. The evening will be wrapped up with a fireworks display at 9:30PM. The resort also offers zipline canopy tours, golf, scenic chairlift rides, fly fishing, mountain biking, tennis, rock climbing, and more.
Named one of the Most Competitive Hillclimbs by Runner’s World Magazine, the Loon Mountain Racewill be held on July 2. Racers will climb more than 2,200 vertical feet over six miles, including an epic ascent up the Upper Walking Boss ski trail, with a spectacular finish at the summit of Loon Mountain, located in Lincoln, N.H. Registration is still open. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the Aerial Forest Adventure Park, climbing wall, bike rentals, zipline, bungee trampoline, and scenic skyrides in Loon’s gondola.
Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, N.H., will host its annual Craft Fair on July 1-2, in addition to its activities such as ziplines, Segway tours, the Aerial Treetop Adventure, mountain coaster, scenic lift rides, summer tubing, boat rentals, slackline park, and more.
On July 3, King Pine at Purity Spring Resort in East Madison, N.H. will host its weekly breakfast cookout on Purity Island, which is open to the public from 8-9 a.m., weather permitting. Guests staying at Purity Spring Resort can also enjoy kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding, sailing and more over the holiday weekend.
Additional activities that run all summer long include horseback riding to a mid-mountain camping experience at Black Mountain in Jackson, N.H.; Aerial Tram rides, Echo Lake Beach boat rentals, and bike rentals at Cannon Mountain, Franconia, N.H.; boat rentals, and biking at Great Glen Trails, Gorham, N.H.; and zipline tours, bike park, aerial challenge course, climbing wall and gravity jump, disc golf, mini golf, and chairlift rides at Mount Sunapee Resort, Newbury, N.H.
