The “Bamialiki” beach was certified by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature. The management of Occidental S.A., steadily oriented towards high quality services and promotion of the country abroad, decided to launch the procedures for ensuring the blue flag on the beach that serves the hotel’s guests. The posting of the flag was symbolically made on behalf of the company by Mr. Odysseas Ranis, after whom the hotel was named.
(TRAVPR.COM) GREECE - June 30th, 2017 - Αt a special event held on the beach in front of the 5-star Astir Odysseus Resort and Spa, the 6th Blue Flag of Kos island was awarded. The “Bamialiki” beach was certified by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature. The management of Occidental S.A., steadily oriented towards high quality services and promotion of the country abroad, decided to launch the procedures for ensuring the blue flag on the beach that serves the hotel’s guests. The posting of the flag was symbolically made on behalf of the company by Mr. Odysseas Ranis, after whom the hotel was named. The event was attended by the Mayor of Kos, Mr. Giorgos Kyritsis, the Police Colonel Mr. Konstantinos Kokoroskos, Lieutenant Fire Colonel Mr. Dimitris Giannaris, the Fire Brigade Officer Mr. Christos Petaloudas, the Harbormaster Mr. Konstantinos Gialelis, the representatives of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature Mrs. Aliki Vavouris and Mr. Dimitris Vavouris, the President of the Hoteliers Association of Kos Mrs Konstantina Svinou, the Director of Marina Kos Mr Sevastianos Maragos. At the same time, the TUI Group was attended by Mr. Stamatis Voukouvalidis, Thodoris Arsenikos and Elisabeth Kamper, Der Touristik Group by Mrs. Irini Tioupala, Cretan Holidays Group by Mrs. Melina Holzer, Python Tours by Mr Panagiotis Tzamalis and Dodecanese Travel by Mr. Yannis Kapasakalis. The guests were welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of Occidental S.A. Mr. Manolis Kritsotakis and by the Hotel Manager Mrs Julia Stefanakis. Astir Odysseus Resort and Spa is set in an area of 100 acres with a capacity of 1,000 beds. The special feature of the hotel is the large water surfaces. Overall, the pools of the hotel unit cover an area of over 5,000 m². In addition, it is the only hotel in Greece that offers an artificial climbing wall of 10 meters height. The surrounding area of the hotel is unique, with 14,779 coniferous, aromatic, climbing and succulent plants, palm trees and various other trees. Additionally, the hotel has 3 restaurants and 3 bars, a wellness and beauty center, conference halls for up to 600 people, a theatre for up to 250 people, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, games room, sports facilities (tennis courts, soccer, etc.) water sports, guarding and childcare. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility program, the company implements recycling of plastic, aluminum, glass, paper, batteries and lamps.
