(TRAVPR.COM) UK - September 29th, 2017 - Malawi is in the middle of the most exciting developments in the history of its tourism and is making great strides now to become one of the most complete destinations in Africa.
For a long time its stunning beaches, beautiful and varied landscapes and fascinating and friendly cultural experiences have been the equal of the best that Africa has to offer. With recent transformations of its wildlife, Malawi’s safari experiences are now starting to match its other attractions.
As well as having superb Lake, Landscape, Culture and now Wildlife experiences, Malawi is warm and welcoming and still untouched and unspoilt by mass tourism, offering the ideal opportunity to experience real Africa.
2017 has seen the completion of the ground-breaking #500Elephants project – the largest elephant translocation in human history. As well as its 500 elephants Nkhotakota Reserve has received hundreds of other animals in an effort to re-stock it to former glories. African Parks now manages Nkhotakota and two more of Malawi’s reserves. It has already achieved great success with Majete – going from just a handful of animals to a Big 5 reserve that’s now home to over 12,000 animals. Liwonde, already Malawi’s premier game park, has received Malawi’s first cheetah in decades and will be home to a lion pride very soon.
Malawi has been put firmly on the map!
As further evidence of its growing reputation and international emergence, Malawi is now also becoming prominent on ‘the lists’:
· Wanderlust, the UK’s top travel magazine, included Malawi on its prestigious Travel Hotlist for 2017
· CNN included no less than 3 Malawi locations in its list of 26 of Africa’s most amazing places (no other country had more)
· Countrybycountry.com (website of ABTA) included Malawi not once but twice in its Top 10: Up and coming Africa & the Middle East as the #500Elephants project began
