(TRAVPR.COM) UK - October 24th, 2017 - Undiscovered Destinations, a UK tour operator specialising in authentic experiences in some of the world’s most exciting regions, recently sent their very first group to Swaziland. The company Executive Mark Huggins had been on a destination familiarisation tour, hosted by the Swaziland Tourism Authority to learn more about the country ahead of the schedule in which you can read his blog here. With the successful tour now complete, we take a look at their first Swaziland experience.

The very first group which just completed a 11-day intimate excursion in Swaziland was made up of six English tourists and was guided by Sense Africa’s Jenny Bowen. Speaking at two different interviews at Foresters Arms Hotel upon arrival and at Hlane Royal National Park soon before departure, the group expressed great awe at visiting Swaziland.

“We are extremely happy to be in this part of the world as we always seek to discover new destinations that so many are yet to discover. Interest on Swaziland has been growing in the UK and in Europe, given that more and more tourists want to visit destinations where culture and traditions were still upheld in their purest form,” said Peter, an elderly British citizen.

Linda, also based in the UK, said she was taken by the fact that they came close to and walked side by side with wildlife in the jungle, a memory she said would linger on for years to come.

Bowen on the other hand, who recently got her badge as a qualified tour guide for Swaziland following attending a HOTAS organised tour guiding course, said she was already humbled to see all visitors who she has guided to Swaziland taking with them very emotional memories back home.

“This group has been short of amazing. Although it is mainly made up of senior citizens, their keenness to travel on feet and engage with the environment closely was astounding. They will definitely spread the message back home about how beautiful Swaziland is,” she said.

In an interview, Huggins had said Undiscovered Destinations’ clientele was keen to spend more than just a transit day at a destination; hence they were already packaging the country as an ultimate destination.

“Our clients do not want to just pass through a destination. Instead, they want to experience it fully. My visit here helped me immensely in enabling me to plan for that and more tours that I will be sending to Swaziland,” he said.

Two couples, he said, are already scheduled to visit Swaziland next February as part of the tours Undiscovered Destinations will be sending to Swaziland.

About 60 percent of his company’s clients are British, and the rest come from other English-speaking countries.

“It will be very easy to sell tours to Swaziland given that the destination has a good mix of culture, wildlife, adventure, and history: all of which are major components sought after by our clients,” he said.

STA Marketing Manager Bongani Dlamini said his organisation was thrilled by Undiscovered Destinations’ move to introduce tours to the country following Huggins’ visit, something which he described as an immediate aftermath of their marketing initiatives.

“We are excited to learn that Undiscovered Destinations have immediately decided to develop tour packages to Swaziland, as the country fits in perfectly to their scope. STA will continue to host international tour operators, as well as travel media in Swaziland, in a bid to bolster our marketing efforts,” said Dlamini.
