With a foot of fresh snow fallen in the new year, more terrain is open than ever this season for downhill and cross-country skiing. In addition, there are a wealth of activities and events available for both adults and children. The Adventure Center, located in Town Square, offers nordic retail, rentals, lessons, and events, plus snowshoes and fat bikes. Other wintery activities include tubing, dog sled excursions, and skating at the year-round indoor ice arena. Within walking distance from Town Square, the White Mountain Athletic Club offers a huge indoor pool, hot tubs, sauna and fitness facilities, plus two indoor tennis courts.
On Saturday, January 13th enjoy fireworks over Corcoran Pond at 7:30pm. On the same day, spectators can cheer on downhill competitors during multiple events on the mountain. At the Adventure Center, women interested in learning or improving their cross-country skills can participate in a Women’s Clinic complete with yoga, lessons, and a wine & wax evening. On Sunday, January 14th, practiced skate skiers can learn advance techniques from 4-time Olympian, Kris Freeman at an Advanced Skate Clinic from 10-11:30 a.m. Plus the Waterville Valley Recreation Department has a full schedule of fun programs over the whole weekend, from Pickleball to stuff your own bear.
Ski & Stay packages pair lift ticket deals with lodging in the Town Square Condominiums. Staying in Town Square or any other participating hotels gives guests access to the Freedom Pass, allowing access to the White Mountain Athletic Club and free passes for other activities.
