(TRAVPR.COM) MALDIVES - February 21st, 2018 - Baros Maldives has been named the Top Luxury Hotel in the World 2018 by the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor, in their annual Travelers’ Choice Awards. The resort was also acclaimed as being among the Top 25 hotels in the world for service and for romance. In addition, Baros Maldives won several regional awards including Top for Romance in Maldives as well as the Top Luxury Hotel in Asia.
The winning hotels were chosen from millions of reviews posted by guests last year on the popular TripAdvisor website. Travelers’ Choice Award winners are determined by the reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travellers worldwide. In the 16th year of the Awards, TripAdvisor has recognised 8,095 properties in 94 countries and eight regions worldwide. The hallmarks of hotels winning a Travelers’ Choice Award are remarkable quality, service and value.
Brooke Ferencsik, senior director of communications for TripAdvisor, said: “This year’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for Hotels recognise thousands of exceptional accommodations that received the highest marks for value, service, amenities and overall experience from travellers. Millions of reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor community informed this list of winners.”
With 12 awards this year, Baros Maldives has improved on its impressive tally of nine awards in 2017, when it was rated Number 14 in the Top 25 Luxury Hotels. The General Manager of Baros Maldives, Ahmed Jihad-Jay, commented: “We are delighted that Baros Maldives has been recognised in so many different categories by TripAdvisor travellers. We are grateful to our discerning guests for taking time to write appreciative reviews about Baros. I also thank our staff for their dedicated service and teamwork that enhances the luxury of our accommodation.”
