The Office of the President of European Council on Tourism and Trade announced that H.E. President of Djibouti ISMAIL OMAR GUELLEH has being consecrated as a WORLD LEADER OF TOURISM and as a member of European Tourism Academy for his “recognition of the role and significance of tourism on world stage”.

(TRAVPR.COM) BELGIUM - March 16th, 2018 - The Office of the President of European Council on Tourism and Trade announced that H.E. President of Djibouti ISMAIL OMAR GUELLEH has being consecrated as a WORLD LEADER OF TOURISM and as a member of European Tourism Academy for his “recognition of the role and significance of tourism on world stage”.

Among the reasons for this decision European Tourism Academy Director Academician Dr. Mircea Constantinescu enumarated: President Ismail Omar Guelleh has succeeded in carving out on Djibouti a space for international peace and security and in making Djibouti a key to African continent peace and security. Today Djibouti is ensuring security along the Red Sea, is opening African continent to trade and riches and commercial exchanges and has succeeded in making Djibouti in a pole of economic growth etc.

The official letter emanating from European Council on Tourism and Trade encourages Djibouti leadership to continue on the road for development via tourism growth and for poverty reduction strategy:

“Today, the Government of Djibouti is recognizing the importance of tourism as a key facilitator for the country development and international promotion, investing in infrastructure and capacity building, creating a special team under Your Excellency leadership for destination promotion and management and protecting the cultural, natural and historical patrimony of the country.

The letter signed by H.E. European Council on Tourism and Trade President-Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and European Tourism Academy Director-Dr. Mircea Constantinescu for H.E. President ISMAIL OMAR GUELLEH reads on:

According to the World Bank most recent report on world economy, President Ismail Omar Guelleh developmental policies lifted Djibouti out of poverty and raised it to number five on the top of world fastest growing economies in 2018.
