Stannington company wins national travel award at London ceremony: Family travel specialist, Activities Abroad, based in Stannington near Morpeth, has been named Best Adventure Specialist for Families at the prestigious Family Traveller Awards 2018.
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - November 30th, 2018 - Scooping the accolade at the glittering London ceremony on Tuesday night (27 November), Activities Abroad was thrilled that its commitment to providing active family holidays to create precious, lasting memories has been recognised on a national scale.
The small, family-run Northumberland-based business was founded in 2002 by Alistair McLean and his wife Kate. Now part of The Artisan Travel Company, alongside sister brands Artisan Travel, the independent specialist holiday company, and The Aurora Zone, the UK’s original Northern Lights holiday company, Activities Abroad offers a wide range of sun and snow family holidays to destinations including Croatia, The Azores, Sicily, Finland, Sweden, Norway and South America.

The Family Traveller Awards 2018 were held at The Unicorn Theatre, London and presented by Ronan Keating and Charlotte Hawkins. The annual awards are designed to showcase the very best family holidays and days out and are judged by renowned figures in the travel industry, with the panel this year including BBC presenter Simon Reeve, Radio 4’s Mariella Frostrup, Family Traveller editor, Jane Anderson, and The Times travel editor, Jane Knight.
