It’s styled as Thailand’s first “geometry” design resort, which means that not only did architect and designer Mr. Patchara Wongboonsin and Mrs. Ornnicha Duriyaprapan of the award winning firm POAR l Patchara + Ornnicha Architects get free rein to let their imaginations run wild, but they also were given a mandate by owner khun Sopit Damminsek MD and developer of D Living Properties Co., Ltd to employ local artisans and craftspeople wherever possible — resulting not in some off-the-shelf “international” design, with the same details you find in design boutique hotels all over the world, but in a truly one-of-a-kind, custom-made experience. The calming setting is made all the more so by a mixture of minimalist, natural surrounding and modern minimalist Asian design.
According to Mr Patchara Wongboonsin better known as khun Jo, Livist Design Resort define the heart of Petchabun which is Khao Kho mountain. Khao is mountain and Kho is Livistona trees. We name this resort as Livist claiming it as our brand is also part of the heart of Petchabun Province. Even though the site is located in the city area of Petchabun, we can see the 180 degrees view of the sierra of Khao Kho and Korat Plateau (Khon Kaen) clearly. The view from the resort to the heart of Petchabun shaping the physicality of the architecture itself. On the top floor, we have the largest infinity roof top pool in the northern and north eastern part of Thailand. This pool has 360-degree view towards the breath-taking sierra. With monochrome decor and views from the infinity pool of moody skies, the Sierra Khao Kho Mountains and the city of Petchabun, the Livist Design Resort is a minimalist masterpiece. Each resort suites will be facing the most beautiful angle of the mountain. Each suite will have 7 meters to 10 meters wide, full-height window that would allow the visitors to enjoy the sunset view of the mountain. Each suite in the building is also separated to give the most privacy environment to the users that the noise won’t get through the room close-by. And by separating the suite rooms layout apart, the whole building became perforated, the wind can flow through the building for entire time, same as the natural light that can reach through the corridor most of the time during the day. This design strategy made this building very energy efficient and energetic. The resort is minimalist in the purest form, an immaculate vision of whitewashed walls and crisp white linen offset by strong, symmetrical lines and the deep green and azure blue of the Sierra Mountain and sky. On the ground floor, the lobby has no wall, the roofs are tilted to create comfortable atmosphere, and the wind can flow through the entire area without obstruction. There is another pool on the ground floor also. This pool sits in the middle of the forest-like courtyard alongside the LiV Spa & Holistic Wellness Village. The guests can swim in this pool during the day because we have a shading, multiple unites of very unique upside-down distorted pyramids. The resort is being build with a high GBI standard and we practise as a Green Hotel with luxury minimalist architectural aspect. The logo of our project means surrounding nature is shaping our architecture’s geometry.
The 80-suite Livist Design Resort is a luxury designer boutique resort offers guest’s 50-70 square metre accommodation with 80 suites that divided into 7 categories and styled to benefit from the surrounding cityscape and mountain views and floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
