Shanti Travel launches a promotional campaign to be broadcasted on social media in an effort to revive tourism in Sri Lanka
(TRAVPR.COM) COLOMBO - July 4th, 2019 - Shantitravel.com, a travel agency with offices in a number of Asian countries, including Sri Lanka, launched its #WeLoveSriLanka campaign in an effort to support tourism in the destination and reassure travellers following the attacks of 21st April 2019. Although caution is still required in some areas of the country, the U.S. Department of State has recently relaxed its recommendation to tourists and the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office has officially removed the destination from their risk list. The news was welcomed with relief by members of the tourism industry, bringing a wave of hope to the local population whose national economy depends mainly on this sector.
It is through this hashtag campaign that Shanti Travel takes part in the revival of tourism in Sri Lanka, encouraging travellers, bloggers and lovers of the island to show solidarity. A non-advertorial image, available to download on the website of the agency, was created specially for the occasion so that everyone can take part in this campaign by posting photos on various social media channels. The objective of the campaign is to reach the greatest number of shares before the beginning of summer holidays in Europe.
“Unity is strength: although this proverb is the national motto of many countries such as Belgium, today it is in Sri Lanka that we must act. The voices of those who are currently on site and who appreciate the gentleness of daily life is the most promising message of hope for the entire country. We love Sri Lanka, do you?” conclude Jeremy Grasset and Alex Le Beaun, both optimistic and eager to work towards restoring the destination.
