NEW INDIA BROCHURE
(TRAVPR.COM) UK - November 29th, 2019 - TransIndus have launched a new Indian Subcontinent tailor-made holidays brochure with a focus on unique experiences that bring clients closer to the traditions, cultures and customs of India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal.
Experiences in India include spending a day with the dhabawallas of Mumbai as they deliver homecooked
lunches to hungry workers in the city; trying your hand at the competitive sport of ‘patang’
(kite flying) with locals in Amritsar; and exploring the Thar Desert on the back of a Marwari horse – a breed that has played a major role in the culture of Rajasthan for over a thousand years.
In Sri Lanka travellers are invited to discover the hidden treasures of Colombo with curator, researcher and photographer, Mark Forbes; trek through the wilds of the Knuckles with a fully qualified local guide, and make a traditional Sinhalese mask during a half-day workshop on the south coast.
Providing a rare insight into Bhutanese culture, new experiences in Bhutan include an astrological reading with a resident Buddhist monk at the 16th-century riverside monastery of Pangri Zampa; joining a local family for traditional butter tea in their rural home and picking up a bow and arrow for an archery class in the scenic Bumthang Valley.
Finally, in Nepal keen trekkers can explore the remote Mustang region near the border with Tibet; tea lovers can learn the age-old growing techniques needed to nurture these priceless plants in the eastern district of Ilam; and tour the colourful Kopan Monastery with a resident monk to better understand the deeply held beliefs, rituals, ceremonies and schooling that dictate their daily lives.
